Geri Myers, age 83, of Iola, Kansas, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018, at the Allen County Regional Hospital, Iola, Kansas. Geri was born February 28, 1935, in Riceville, Iowa, to Walter Arndt and Mary (Wiepert) Arndt. Geri graduated high school from Saint Mary's High School in New Haven, Iowa. On April 12, 1955, Geri married James A. Myers in Osage, Iowa. Geri was a homemaker. She was a member of Saint John's Catholic Church, Iola, Kansas. Geri loved to dance and she loved family! She enjoyed dogs, finding bargains at garage sales, volunteering at Second Chance in Iola, meeting new people. Geri never met a stranger. Geri was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. Geri is survived by one son, James Myers, Iola, Kansas; one daughter, Jackie Thompson and husband, Dan, Iola, Kansas; five grandchildren, James Myers, Jr., Vascar, Kansas, Tim Thompson, LaHarpe, Kansas, Tina Valentine and husband, Calvin, Carbondale, Kansas, Misty Wibskov and husband, Anders, Lawrence, Kansas, Kayla Alvarado and husband, Duane, Emporia, Kansas; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; brother, Dwayne Arndt and wife, Judy, Jewel, Iowa; one niece; one nephew; and fiancé and dancing partner, Lloyd Specht, Piqua, Kansas. A graveside inurnment service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019, in Highland Cemetery, 1800 North Cottonwood, Iola, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF), and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Iola, Kansas. Co Condolences for the family may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com . Due to the winter snow storm, the graveside service is moved from Highland Cemetery to Feuerborn Family Funeral Service Chapel, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.  The date and time will remain the same:  11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 12, 2019.
