Gary Beauchamp

Gary Beauchamp, age 82, of Garnett, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at the Anderson County Hospital, Garnett, Kansas.
Gary was born on September 14, 1937, at Garnett, Kansas. He was the only child of Champ Claron Beauchamp and Grace Evelyna (Eames) Beauchamp. Gary grew up in Garnett, graduating from Garnett High School with the class of 1955. On April 21, 1957, Gary was united in marriage to Bonnie Mae Peters in the First United Methodist Church, Garnett. They began their married life, living in Garnett before moving to Wichita for a couple of years before returning to Garnett. Gary’s work in Garnett began with working in the oil fields for his father-in-law and then as a carpenter. In 1963 Gary began working at the Hallmark Cards production facility, in Lawrence, Kansas. Gary worked in the Modification Department for over 29 years. While working there Gary was instrumental in maintaining and building countless machines that were used in the production lines. Gary enjoyed his work as well as the people that he worked with. In his retirement Gary kept himself busy by building Bonnie her home with a basement. He could often be found at his building on 5th street where he took on woodworking, metal and machining projects for himself, family and friends. Gary also enjoyed watching his grandsons basketball games, occasionally serving as an unofficial sideline referee.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bonnie, of the home; three children, Marcia Lickteig and husband, Ken of Chanute, Kansas, Curtis Beauchamp and wife, Dana of Newton, Kansas and Jeff Beauchamp and wife, Myrna of Richmond, Kansas; three grandchildren, Bret Lickteig and wife, Emily, Todd Lickteig and wife, Lindsay and Tiffany Wendling and husband, Jeff; six great-grandchildren, Bryce Lickteig, Brooklyn, Karlie and Sophie Lickteig, Brody and Arlie Wendling; and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at the Church of the Nazarene, Garnett, Kansas. The family will greet friends following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene or to the Garnett Senior Center or to the First Baptist Church. Condolences may be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com .
