Don Miles Kessinger, age 91, formerly of Iola, Kansas, passed away June 21, 2022, at Sloan House, Meadowlark Hills, in Manhattan, Kansas. Don was born August 20, 1930, in Gas, Kansas, to Lester O. Kessinger and Mary Jane (Overmeyer) Kessinger. Don had a twin sister, Diana Kessinger McCaustland.
Don attended school in Iola, graduating from Iola High School. He joined the Navy and served in the Korean War.
Don and Doris Hillbrant were married on August 31, 1952, in Iola, Kansas. This union was blessed with a son, Miles.
Don worked for the Rural Electric Cooperative in Iola for forty years. After retirement, Don and Doris spent winters in Texas and summers traveling.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; twin sister, Diana; and son, Miles.
Don is survived by three nieces, Heather Reed and husband, Mike, Lori Servis and husband, Bob, Merilee Crow and fiancée, Chris Lawson.
No services are planned at this time. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas.
Memorials are suggested to the Kessinger Family Scholarship at Allen County Community College, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas.
