Charles L. Gineste

Charles (Chuck) Leo Gineste, age 86, passed away peacefully, November 8, 2020, in Springfield, Missouri. Chuck was born January 5, 1934, on a farm north of Moran, Kansas, to Leo Antonio Gineste and Otha (Odette) Gineste.

After High School, Chuck worked for a farmer, until being called by the United States Army in 1954. He was discharged in 1956. He worked for Adams Construction as a heavy equipment operator until 1966. Chuck then went to work for the Kansas Department of Transportation, Iola, Kansas, as a district shop mechanic, retiring after 31 years.

Chuck met his wife of 41 years, Ione Bills, while they both were employed by the State of Kansas. They were married in 1974.

Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Ione, after 41 years of marriage in July 25, 2015; his parents; brother, Russell (Rut) Gineste; sisters, Leota Helms, Helen Laymon, and Lillian Branson; and his brother-in-law, Ralph Myrick.

Chuck is survived by his son, Craig Bills (Mary) of Springfield, Missouri; two daughters, Becky Linthicum (Randy), LaHarpe, Kansas, Tamera Miller (Rick) of Moran Kansas; sister, Shirley Cole, Iola, Kansas; sister-in-law, Patricia Myrick, Pleasanton, Kansas; six grandchildren, Courtney Orth, Iola, Kansas, Chad Sigg (Veronica), Topeka, Kansas, Patrick Bills (Stephanie), Lawrence, Kansas, Christopher Bills (Ashley), Olathe, Kansas, Candace Gardner (Denny), Mildred, Kansas, Shaun Reed, LaHarpe, Kansas; fifteen great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Mickey.

Cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Mapleton Cemetery, Mapleton, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to the Allen County Animal Rescue Facility ACARF) or Wings of Warriors, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
