Bryson Lee Byerley

Bryson Byerley, age 22, of Iola, formerly of Hartford, Kansas, passed away on August 20, 2020 at the KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.

Bryson was the first of two children born Teague and Wendy (Tarter) Byerley. He was born on October 11, 1997 in Emporia, Kansas. Bryson grew up in Hartford, graduating from high school there in 2016. Following high school he attended the Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia. In 2018 Bryson moved to Iola to be able to live near his grandmother. Bryson was currently engaged to Rebecca Wright after meeting in 2017. Bryson worked on restoring and blueing firearms. In his free time, he loved to hunt and fish. From an early age it was apparent that Bryson loved people, especially visitng with people. He never knew a stranger, his humble and kind nature allowed him to be friends with everyone. Bryson was a good friend who would give the shirt off of his back for someone else, however many of his friends gained far more from Bryson, because of the strength he demonstrated. He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Iola, where he loved his church family. He will be remembered for his wit and humor. His loving and caring spirit along with his big smile will be missed by all knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Betty Robinson.

Bryson is survived by his parents, Teague and Wendy Byerley of Pleasanton, Kansas; fiance, Rebecca Wright of the home; sister, Kylea Rhoads of Lawrence, Kansas; grandparents, Dean and Sherry Byerley of Topeka, Kansas; grandfather, Jim and Joyce Tarter, of Iola; grandfather, Raymond Robinson, Neosho Falls; and his beloved dog, Gypsy.

Services for Bryson Byerley will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola, with Pastor Paul Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Neosho Falls, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday evening in The Venue at Iola, 1883 US Hwy 54, Iola. Memorials in Bryson's memory may be made to the WildTrust (Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism) for the purpose of supporting the Special Hunts in Kansas, allowing disabled hunters to opportunity to enjoy hunting.
