Amy Ruth Helman, age 69, of Iola, Kansas, passed away December 14, 2020, at Advent Health Shawnee Mission, Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Amy was born January 5, 1951, in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Robert Smith and Betty (Maxwell) Smith.

Amy graduated from Iola High School in 1969. Amy and Ron Helman, Sr. were married for 19 years. They were later divorced. Amy worked 26 years for H.L. Miller & Son dress factory, Iola, Kansas, later Russell Stover Candy, Iola, Kansas, and she retired from Allen County Hospital, Iola, Kansas.

Amy liked bingo, watching sports on TV, and spending time with her three boys and grandkids.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents.

Amy is survived by sons, Ron Helman and fiancé, Marci, Iola, Kansas, John Helman and fiancé, Vivienne, Iola, Kansas, Brian Helman and wife, Amber, Chanute, Kansas; sisters, Rema Cole, Gas, Kansas, Sharon Sutterby and husband, Raymond, Iola, Kansas, Karen Smith and companion, Don, Sharon Springs, Kansas; brother, Ron Severy and wife, Laila, Bakersfield, California; grandchildren, Mason, Megan, Weston, Alex, Paige; great-grandchildren, Asher, Amoree; and numerous other relatives and friends,

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2020, in The Venue at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, 1883 US Highway 54, Iola, Kansas. A graveside service and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 21, 2020, in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas.

Memorials are suggested to Harvest Baptist Church, and may be left with Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.
